Many people tell me that they’re not 100% happy with their CV.
Maybe the latest changes haven’t been updated yet, some information should be presented differently or they’re simply not happy with the way their CV looks.
But even more often, people tell me that they’re not sure what a recruiter or hiring manager is looking for or if something is missing in their CV and they just don’t know it.
I have been an HR Professional and Recruiter since 1998. I have worked for several international companies, but definitely know Switzerland best. And although CVs all over the world can look very similar, each country has some small, but often very important specialties. But don’t worry, I have studied thousands of CVs and know what recruiters in Switzerland are looking for.
Now here’s the bad news:
I can’t promise you job interviews or even the job of your dreams, but I can help you optimize your CV in order to make a good first impression and get a company’s attention.
“That doesn’t sound like much”, you might say.
But please consider this: For a single job opening
- companies often receive between 50 and 100 applications, sometimes even more
- recruiters spend an average of 30 to 60 seconds on a CV
- 2-5 job applicants are usually invited to a job interview
It’s true that a great CV will not guarantee you a job but without an outstanding CV, you won’t even get invited to a job interview.
So far, I have seen many average or even mediocre CVs and of course some good ones. Sadly, I have only encountered very few truly outstanding CVs over the years.
I like the saying that “good enough is often good enough”.
But you shouldn’t accept this when it comes to your CV!
So welcome to my blog and I hope that you will find all the information you need to create your optimized Swiss CV!
To your CV success!
